Nobody is better equipped to sing Kate Bush's music than Anneke van Giersbergen', tweeted a visitor after one of Anneke's solo performances, which made her ponder the idea. As a teenager, she discovered Kate Bush’s music and she kept listening to the album Hounds of Love over and over again. She never lost her admiration for the wayward Bush, although Van Giersbergen - contrary to her idol - seems to be born for the stage.

With this fourth theater tour, she is paying a beautiful tribute to Kate Bush. Out of respect for Bush's authenticity, Van Giersbergen has given the songs her own creative and personal touch, but for true fans this is a unique opportunity to hear a live version of Kate Bush’s oeuvre.

Vocals: Anneke van Giersbergen
Keyboard: Thijs Schrijnemakers

The media about Anneke van Giersbergen is singing Kate Bush:
Trouw****: ‘…van Giersbergen's show offers the best of both worlds. You can listen to Kate Bush's songs, while being surprised by the personal touch the singer from Brabant has added to the songs. Sometimes, Anneke van Giersbergen is even singing better than Kate Bush herself'.

Bio: Singer Anneke van Giersbergen has one of the most versatile voices in The Netherlands: powerful and vulnerable. She became known as the frontwoman of The Gathering, but she has been having a successful solo career for many years now. She is a musical chameleon, which is evidenced by her collaborations with artists such as Devin Townsend, Anathema, Icelandic folk group Árstíðir and BLØF. In addition, millions of people can hear her as the voice in Baron 1898, a roller coaster in Dutch amusement park the Efteling.

2019 was marked by Anneke's 25th anniversary as an artist, which she celebrated with two sold-out shows at the Effenaar, in her home town of Eindhoven.

In that same year, Anneke was also awarded the Buma ROCKS! Export Award in recognition and appreciation of her international success.

In early 2021, her candid solo album ‘The Darkest Skies Are The Brightest’ was released. In the autumn of that same year, Anneke participated in the popular Dutch television show Beste Zangers (Best Singers), in which she made a big impression with her interpretations of the other participants’ songs.
