Her singing talent was discovered on the school bus. She then took a music course after which she decided to make her life evolve around music.
Diyet & The Love Soldiers' songs can be described as alternative country, folk, roots with catchy melodies and stories deeply rooted in Diyet's Native American background. She is singing in English, but also in Southern Tuchone, her native language. She is accompanied by The Love Soldiers, a band consisting of her Dutch husband Robert van Lieshout on acoustic guitar, drums and percussion, and producer Bob Hamilton on electric guitar, pedal steel, and mandolin.
In 2018, she released the album 'Diyet & The Love Soldiers', which received several nominations, including 'Folk Album of The Year' at the Indigenous Music Awards, and 'Indigenous Songwriter of the Year' at the Canadian Folk Music Awards.
