HOW CAN I ORDER TICKETS?
The easiest and fastest way to order tickets for the shows of your choice is via the website of De Schalm (www.deschalm.com), 24 hours a day and 7 days a week You can use every device (computer, laptop, tablet or mobile phone) to order and pay for your tickets. Select the number of tickets and the correct price category per show, confirm the chairs allocated to you in the hall and pay for the tickets.

WHEN DOES THE PRESALE START?
Pre-sale starts on Tuesday 14 May 2019. As of this date, you can start booking tickets for one or multiple shows. However, bookings can only be made via our website. From Monday 20 May 2019, you can also buy, order and collect your tickets for season 2019-2020 by phone or directly at the theater box office.

WHEN DO I BECOME A SEASON TICKET HOLDER?
You will automatically become a season ticket holder, if you booked tickets for at least 4 shows during the last season. You will be the first to receive the new season brochure and you will be able to take part in the presale exclusive to season ticket holders, which will take place from Tuesday 7 May until Monday 13 May. If during the pre-sale, you order tickets for (at least) 4 shows, you will automatically become a season ticket holder (again) for season 2019-2020.

HOW CAN I ORDER TICKETS VIA THE WEBSITE?
We have a new website since 25 September 2018. To be able to order tickets online, you need to create an account first. That is quite easy. Click on the button ‘create account’ and create a username and password. Use the email address you also used for previous bookings (via our ‘old’ site). After logging in, the system will now automatically fill in the details that are already available. You can now order tickets by clicking on the ‘tickets’ button next to the show of your choice. Once logged in, the website will ‘recognize’ you when you return and will display a personal welcome message on screen. Any other privileges (e.g. as Friend of De Schalm) you may have, will also automatically be relinked to your account. Within your account, you can create your own wish list and manage your newsletter preferences. And of course, you can also easily change your own details via your account (for example, when you have moved or want to use a different mail address).

HOW DO I KNOW IF YOU HAVE RECEIVED MY ONLINE RESERVATION?
If you book and pay via internet, you will automatically receive a confirmation mail within a few minutes. If you do not receive a confirmation mail, the booking failed and you have to try again. In case of doubt, please contact the theater box office (sometimes the email address contains an error due to which you do not receive the confirmation mail.)

I HAVE A DISABILITY. HOW DO I ORDER MY TICKETS?
In our Grote Zaal and the Lindenzaal, we have reserved a number of special seats for people with a disability (for example, wheelchair spaces and seats with extra legroom). Please contact our theater box office if you would like to book such a special seat. Unfortunately, these seats cannot be booked online.

WHAT IS AN EARLY BIRD PASS?
Of course, it is possible to order an Early Bird Pass again. The pass costs 10 Euro and can be used according to the principle 1 pass = 1x discount, 2 passes = 2x discount, etc. When you order your tickets online, all shows include the option to order the pass; you have to order the desired amount of passes only once (and not separately for each show). When ordering tickets online, the information regarding each show states the regular price and the early bird price. When you are using the Early Bird Pass, you have to select the early bird price. The early bird discount for (most) theater shows is valid until 30 June 2019. Furthermore, early bird pass holders will receive several special show offers throughout the season.

WHY IS IT NOT POSSIBLE TO SELECT 2 SEATS IF THE FLOOR PLAN SHOWS THERE ARE STILL 3 ADJACENT SEATS AVAILABLE?
To ensure that no seats are left empty, it might be possible that you are not able to select 2 seats if there are still 3 adjacent seats available. When selecting your own seats, the booking system will automatically ensure that there will be no single empty seats left, which seats will be difficult to sell. The booking system will try to ensure that all seats booked are next to each other. Thank you for your understanding

IS IT POSSIBLE TO BUY TICKETS DURING THE SUMMER HOLIDAYS?
You can always book tickets online. However, it will take a little longer than usual to send hardcopy tickets during the summer months (you will receive e-tickets directly after payment). In summer, the theater box office is closed from Saturday 6 July until Sunday 18 August (similar to the elementary school holidays).

CAN I SELECT MY OWN SEATS?
Yes, you can select your own seats for the season 2019-2020 shows. After you select the show of your choice, you have the option to click ‘select own chairs’ or ‘automatic selection’. You can either click on the seats of your choice in the floor plan. Or you can enter the number of seats needed after clicking on ‘automatic selection’. The system will now select the best available seats for you.

WHAT MEANS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?
The theater box office accepts cash, bankcard and credit card payments and the most common vouchers (also see question below). In addition, we can send you an invoice or a digital payment link by email. When booking via the website, you can pay via Ideal or by Credit Card, Podium Cadeaukaart, VVV Giftcard or a voucher of De Schalm.

I HAVE (THEATER GIFT) VOUCHERS. CAN I USE THESE TO PAY FOR TICKETS?
Our theater box office accepts the following (paper) vouchers: the Dutch Theater & Concertbon (cannot be used to pay for film tickets), Irischeque (VVV Cadeaubon of VVV Cadeaukaart), VVV Giftcard, City Centrum Cadeaucheque, The Nationale Bioscoopbon, (can only be used to pay for film tickets) or the Schalm Gift Voucher. If you still have any credit left after paying for the ticket(s), the money will be refunded. In addition, you can pay with the Podium Cadeaukaart (theater), the Nationale Kunst & Cultuur Cadeaukaart and the Digitale Bioscoopbon (film). These vouchers and gift cards are pre-loaded with a certain amount of credit. Never send us your voucher and/or gift cards. You can buy the vouchers and gift cards (only the Podium Cadeaukaart and the Digitale Bioscoopbon) and redeem them at the theater box office.


DO I HAVE TO PAY ANY ADDITIONAL COSTS WHEN BUYING THEATER TICKETS?
As of season 2019-2020, the service costs are included in the ticket price. You do no longer pay for any additional costs, except the delivery charges. If you want the tickets to be sent to your home address, you pay € 2.50 delivery charges. E-tickets are free of charge.

WHAT ARE E-TICKETS?
If you buy tickets online, you have the option to select an electronic ticket: an e-ticket. After payment, you will receive an email with a PDF file. This file contains your tickets. You can print the tickets or have them scanned on your mobile device upon entrance into the theatre. You do not need to exchange the tickets at the theater box office. Please note: the PDF contains 1 ticket per page!

I BOUGHT 2 TICKETS WITH SEAT NUMBERS 18 AND 20. DO WE HAVE ADJACENT SEATS?
Yes, you do have adjacent seats. The large theater hall in De Schalm is (like many other theaters) divided into even and uneven seat numbers. Each row starts with the uneven numbers on the rights (1, 3, 5, etc.). The even numbers are located at the right side of the row (2, 4, 6, etc.).

WHAT DOES A SHOW WITH STANDING PLACES ENTAIL?
We are able to retract the seating for a limited number of shows to accommodate for standing places. In the information in our brochure, we specify if a show has standing places. If the balcony in the large hall is closed during a specific show, this means that we only offer standing places. If the balcony is open, you can either choose to sit here or to book a standing place. This will be clearly stated in the information regarding the respective show. When the seating in the Lindenzaal is retracted, no seats will be available.

DO YOU PROVIDE SEAT BOOSTERS?
Yes, we provide seat boosters for all youth theater productions. The seat boosters are located at the entrances to the relevant hall.

I HAVE A HEARING IMPAIRMENT. HOW WILL I BE ABLE TO HEAR THE SHOW CLEARLY?
Theater De Schalm has Phonak sound amplifying devices available, which are operated via FM equipment. The devices are available in the Grote Zaal and the Lindenzaal and can be obtained at the theater box office. Use of the equipment is free of charge. After the show, you can return the equipment to our employees in the cloakroom.

WHERE CAN I FIND THE END TIMES OF THE SHOWS?
The end times of the shows are indicated on the sign near the entrance to the theater. You will also find this information in the De Schalm info mail, which you will receive a couple of days prior to the show (if we have your email address). Of course, you can also contact our theater box office if you need more information.

WHAT CAN I DO IF THE SHOW HAS BEEN SOLD OUT, BUT I STILL WOULD LIKE TO ATTEND?
If it turns out, upon booking, that the show has been sold out, you can always have your name placed on the waiting list. Please send an email to reserveringen@deschalm.com. If any seats do become available again, we will contact you by phone. Please note that we do not leave a message on your voicemail or send an email. It is therefore important that you provide us with a phone number on which you can best be reached.

CANCELLATION / EXCHANGE OF TICKETS
You can return tickets for any theater show until 1 week prior to the show. In case of illness or other unforeseen circumstances arising within one week prior to the show, tickets can unfortunately not be returned. You will receive a voucher for any tickets returned. This voucher can be used to book another show. We will charge € 2 administration costs per ticket for this service. If you exchange your tickets for a different show in the same season, you do not have to pay the administration costs. We do not refund any money. Tickets bought via the Nationale Theaterkassa, Eventim or any other sales channel, cannot be returned. For more information on cancellation of tickets bought via the above-mentioned organizations, please contact the relevant organization.

WHAT HAPPENS IF A SHOW IS BEING CANCELLED?
The theater program is subject to change. If a show is being cancelled, you will be informed as soon as possible. In case of cancellation, we will refund the costs of your ticket.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO ENJOY DINNER BEFORE THE SHOW?
Theater De Schalm contains a restaurant, where you can enjoy dinner prior to the show (or after the show if you are attending the matinee). The restaurant has an extensive menu and offers a special Theater Menu. This is a two-course selection menu, which is updated every so often.
