E-tickets / dispatch of hard-copy tickets

When ordering tickets, you can either select to receive e-tickets by mail or hard copy tickets by post.
E-tickets are entry tickets you will receive by mail. You have to print these tickets at home and bring them to the theater.
When you do not want to or are not able to print tickets at home, you can choose to receive a hard-copy entry ticket. These tickets will be sent to your home address at an extra cost of €2.50.

Entry tickets, service costs and delivery charges

The ticket prices are including wardrobe costs (unless stated otherwise), a drink during the break (most theater shows have a break), service costs and VAT. The prices do not include delivery charges. The delivery charges amount to € 2.50 per order.

Gift cards and vouchers

We accept the following gift cards and vouchers:
- the Dutch Theater and Concertbon
- Podium Cadeaukaart (you can also use this card to pay online)
- Irischeque / VVV Cadeaubon of VVV Cadeaukaart
- VVV Giftcard 
- City Centrum Cadeaucheque
- De Schalm Gift Card
- De Schalm Voucher (you will receive this voucher when you cancel a show)
- Nationale Bioscoopbon and Nationale Digitale Bioscoopbon (only applies to films)
De Podium Cadeaukaart and the Digitale Bioscoopbon can also be purchased at the theater box office.

CJP Cultuurkaart / Dutch Student Card
At the night of the show, holders of a CJP (Cultural Youth Passport) Culture Card and/or a Student Card can purchase entry tickets at a cost of € 10 per ticket for shows that have not been sold out. The following conditions apply:

- maximum age: 27 year
- only valid on the date of the show
- not valid when shows are sold out
- tickets can only be bought at the theater box office, from 45 minutes prior to the start of the show
- only valid upon presentation of a valid CJP Cultuurkaart or Student Card
- maximum of 1 ticket per card
- booking in advance is not possible

Selection of seats

You will be able to select your own seats for all shows. During the ordering process, the seating plan of the relevant hall will automatically appear after you have entered the number of tickets you want to purchase. The required number of seats will be highlighted on the seating plan (in red). You can change the seating according to your wishes or you can immediately confirm the selection indicated.

Adjacent seats

The rows of De Schalm’s Grote Zaal are divided into even and uneven chair numbers. The uneven numbers (1, 3, 5, etc.) are located at the right side of each row and the even numbers (2, 4, 6, etc.) are located on the left side.
The chair numbers in the Lindenzaal are in ascending order (1, 2, 3, etc.)

Second tier
As of season 2017-2018, de Grote Zaal in Theater De Schalm has a 2nd tier. This tier comprises all seats on the balconies (high and low). These are seats with impaired visibility. The 2nd tier tickets are therefore lower priced than 1st tier tickets.

Shows with standing places

For a limited number of shows, the stand will be retracted to create standing places. Information regarding standing places is included in the brochure, in the information of the relevant show (standing concerts).

End time show 

The end time of the shows will be displayed upon entry into the theater at the night of the show. You will also find this information in the info mail from De Schalm, which you will receive a couple of days prior to the show (if we have your email address). Of course, you can also obtain this information from the theater box office.

Drink during the break

For some of our theater shows that include a break, a drink during that break is included in the price. This is always mentioned in the information (both online and in the brochure). The schedule of the shows is subject to change and it might therefore happen that the show does not have a break after all. In that case, you may enjoy the drink after the show. In case the show does have a break, but a drink is not included in the price, you will have to pay for your own drinks at the bar.

Sold-out show – Waiting list

In case of a sold-out show, tickets are sometimes cancelled and returned for re-sale. We can add your name to the waiting list. Please send an email with your name, phone number and the number of persons to If tickets are returned, we will solely contact you by phone.

Cancellation of a show

The program is subject to changes. If a show is being cancelled, we will inform you thereof as soon as possible. In case of cancellation, we will refund the purchase amount of the tickets (excluding delivery charges).

Cancellation/Exchange of tickets

You can return tickets for any theater show until 1 week prior to the show. In case of illness or other unforeseen circumstances arising within one week prior to the show, tickets can unfortunately not be returned. You will receive a voucher for any ticket you have returned. This voucher can be used to book another show (online). We will charge € 2 administration costs per ticket for this service. If you exchange your tickets for a different show in the same season, you do not have to pay the administration costs. We do not refund any money.

Lost tickets

In case you lost your tickets, we are able to provide duplicate tickets. Please visit the theater box office at the day of the show. On presentation of valid identification, we will provide you with duplicate tickets.


There are many dubious websites that buy and resell large amounts of tickets without permission of the artist. And this has an impact on you, because the price of those tickets is often much higher than the original price. We therefore advise you to never buy tickets via dubious websites!
