In the 2026/2027 season, children up to and including the age of 12 will once again be able to attend performances in the ‘Youth and Family’ genre free of charge. However, there will be some changes. The most important thing is that this scheme enables as many children as possible from the Veldhoven region to go to the theatre.
Each family can attend a maximum of four performances, and each adult may bring a maximum of two children free of charge.
Below are answers to the most frequently asked questions:
1. What are the free ASML children’s tickets?
Thanks to our partnership with ASML, children aged 0 to 12 can attend selected youth and family performances at Theater de Schalm for free.
2. How do I book tickets for these children’s and family shows with free children’s tickets?
For every paying adult, you can bring up to two children aged 0 to 12 for free. The online shop is set up accordingly when booking these youth and family performances. You tick the number of adults and the number of children for whom you wish to purchase tickets. Then click on the plus sign (so that a 1 appears here) and click on the grey ‘add’ button. You then follow the steps and complete your payment in the online shop.
We’ve listed a few scenarios below to clarify this ordering process:
- If you select 1 adult and 2 children, the total amount consists of the paying adult + 2 free children.
- If you select 1 adult and 3 children, the total amount consists of the paying adult + 1 paying child + 2 free children.
- If you select 2 adults and 4 children, the total amount consists of 2 paying adults + 4 free children.
- If you select 2 adults and 5 children, the total amount consists of 2 paying adults + 1 paying child + 4 free children.
3. Are the free children’s tickets a permanent offer?
Our partnership with ASML is a multi-year arrangement. We will announce in time via our website and newsletter whether and how the offer will continue after the 2026–2027 season.
4. What happens if I am unable to attend?
If you are unexpectedly unable to attend, please cancel your tickets as soon as possible so that other families can make use of the vacated seats.
5. Does the paying adult have to accompany the children into the venue?
Yes, the free children’s tickets are linked to at least one paying adult, who must also be present at the performance to supervise the children.
6. What is the age range for a child’s ticket?
Free children’s tickets are valid for children aged 0 to 12 at the time of the performance.
7. Can I join a waiting list?
Yes. For sold-out youth and family performances, we operate a waiting list. When places become available due to cancellations, we automatically contact families on the waiting list.
