In the 2026/2027 season, children up to the age of 12 will once again be able to attend performances in the Youth and Family genre free of charge. However, there will be some changes. The most important thing is that this scheme enables as many children as possible from the Veldhoven area to go to the theatre. Each family can attend a maximum of 4 performances, and each adult can bring a maximum of 2 children for free. This means we will hold a prize draw at the start of the season to ensure tickets are allocated as fairly as possible. You can register until 8 June. If you are selected in the draw, you will receive a confirmation with a payment link the following week. If you do not hear anything, you will remain on the waiting list in case places become available.
All terms and conditions can be found at www.deschalm.com.
Below are answers to the most frequently asked questions:
1. What are the free ASML children’s tickets?
Thanks to our partnership with ASML, children aged 0 to 12 can attend selected children’s and family performances at Theater de Schalm for free.
2. Are the free children’s tickets for the 2026–2027 season available yet?
Due to the huge success of this initiative, we are running a lottery for youth and family performances for the 2026–2027 season. You can sign up for a maximum of four performances via the waiting list. This allows us to make as many families as possible happy with free tickets.
3. When will the lottery for the youth and family performances take place?
You can register online for the waiting list until 8 June. We will start the lottery on 9 June. If you are selected, you will receive a confirmation and a payment link for the tickets of the paying adult(s) the following week. If you do not hear anything, you will automatically remain on the waiting list in case places become available.
4. How many free children’s tickets can I book per parent?
For each paying adult, you can bring a maximum of two children aged 0 to 12 free of charge.
5. Is the free children’s ticket offer a permanent scheme?
The partnership with ASML is a multi-year arrangement. We will announce in good time via our website and newsletter whether and how the promotion will continue after the 2026–2027 season.
6. What happens if I am unable to attend?
If you are unexpectedly unable to attend, please cancel your tickets as soon as possible so that other families can make use of the vacated places.
7. Does the paying adult have to accompany the child into the theatre?
Yes, the free children’s tickets are linked to at least one paying adult who must also be present at the performance to supervise the children.
8. What is the age limit for a children’s ticket?
Free children’s tickets are valid for children aged 0 to 12 at the time of the performance.
9. Why do you use a lottery system?
Due to the huge success of the promotion, demand exceeds the number of available seats. By using a lottery, we aim to give as many families as possible a fair chance to enjoy the performances.
10. Can I join a waiting list?
Yes. If seats become available due to cancellations, we will automatically contact families on the waiting list.
