Close To You, I Say A Little Prayer, The Look Of Love, Walk On By... Composer Burt Bacharach's classics are etched in our musical memory. His repertoire has been sung by such greats as Dionne Warwick, Aretha Franklin, Elvis Costello, our own Trijntje Oosterhuis and many others. To this list we can now add the name of Mats Lodenstijn. When Bacharach passed away last year, this singer immediately knew he wanted to honor his inspiration. And with success, because this music seems right up his alley!

Ten years after he graduated (cum laude) from the conservatory in Tilburg - and several musical theater pieces later - Mats is now in theaters with a contemporary ode to his musical hero. The Bacharach Songbook is an intimate theater concert, in which not only the worldwide hits but also the unknown gems of Bacharach pass by. Together with The Burt Trio, consisting of three jazz musicians, Mats gives his own interpretation of the rich oeuvre. And he uses personal anecdotes to take you into the story behind the songs. Enjoy this young tribute to an old master. Sing along and sing along!
