The name of his second musical theater program, “Fifty Shades to Fiddle,” is a nod to the well-known book and movie series, but don't let the title fool you. Although love is the overarching theme, the “fifty shades” in this program represent the complexity and depth of human emotions and feelings being explored. Music, as a medium, proves ideally suited to bring these myriad nuances and sensations to life. The violin, as a specialized tool, and Micha, as a virtuoso player, play an important role in this story.
Micha's musical journey began in a musical family, where his parents met in a youth orchestra and his love of music was born. At a young age he added the guitar to his set of instruments, but soon the violin found a special place in his heart. He effortlessly switched between instruments and composed his own music, encouraged by his father.
His true virtuosity on the violin developed during his conservatory training, where he was taught by renowned teachers, including Philip Hirshhorn and Daniel van Zweden. Together with Daniël, he founded a gypsy orchestra that toured the Netherlands and Europe, playing virtuosic pieces by composers such as Paganini, Wieniawski and De Sarasate. Micha also specialized in Argentine tango, in which the violin plays a distinctive role.
Micha's musical journey brought him into contact with various artists and musical styles, making him a unique and original musician. He shared the stage with many well-known artists and performed in prestigious venues around the world. Micha Molthoff continues to enchant audiences worldwide with his passion for the violin and his compelling musical journey.
