Laura Cortese (violin, vocals) and Bert Ruymbeek (accordion) capture memories in sound - sometimes with words, sometimes purely instrumental. Their music is an intimate dialogue, a narrative full of emotion and atmosphere, created during the lockdowns and further developed through the Merode Festival.

Laura, an adventurous musician from San Francisco, now living in Ghent, is known for The Dance Cards and her unique approach to string music. Bert brings his lyrical accordion playing, rooted in Scandinavian folk and Belgian traditions. Together they create a moving musical landscape full of depth and connection.
