Over the past decade, Guy Verlinde has dominated the Belgian blues and roots scene. He toured relentlessly across Europe, recorded 15 albums in 14 years’ time, and played at numerous prestigious Belgian clubs (AB, De Roma, OLT) and international festivals (Blues Peer, Cognac Blues Passions, Moulin Blues, …), where he shared the stage with legends like BB King, John Fogerty, Tony Joe White, Santana, John Hiatt, Canned Heat, Jeff Beck, and more.

His live shows are of a high caliber, and because of his songs infused with Blues, Roots, and Americana, people often compare him to Doug MacLeod, Ian Siegal, Hans Theessink, and Guy Davis, with whom he played several times in the past. Jointly with his recently deceased friend Tiny Legs Tim, he was at the helm of the flourishing blues scene in Ghent.

His latest album Standing In The Light of a Brand New Day, which was recorded in between the Covid lockdowns, marks a new step in his musical and lyrical evolution. It is a highly positive album that offers solace in tumultuous times.
